Carrot Puree

Carrot Puree

Five medium size carrots will make about 12 ounces of food.
The freshest carrots can be bought in winter and spring. Carrots are safest for babies older than six months, serious health risks can occur for babies under six months old.

Rinse carrots well as I do not peel them before steaming. Cut them into small quarter inch size discs. They do not need to be exactly the same size, just small to make the steaming process quicker.

Steam carrot slices for about twenty minutes. They are a pretty hardy vegetable and do require a longer steaming time than most. Once they are tender, place in food processor and puree until smooth. What a beautiful color!

Add protein to this puree and make it a meal!

Add a medium mango for an extra helping of vitamins.

Add one apple and three kiwis for this amazingly tasty puree!

A few small leaves of basil to freshen your regular old carrot puree.

Two apples and half a pound of radishes make this meal.

Add two bell peppers for this veggie packed meal.

Carrots make a great addition to applesauce! A new take on a favorite dish that little ones will love.
