Broccoli Puree

One medium broccoli head (about three cups) produces about eight ounces.
Fresh, in season broccoli can be purchased from fall through spring.

Cut the head up and steam the broccoli florets for about fifteen minutes. Process in the food processor until a pulp forms. You can add liquid to this pulp to create a pure broccoli puree. Or you can add more vegetables and/or fruits. For toddlers eating finger foods, small pieces of fresh or steamed broccoli are very nutritious and tasty!

Add two cooked apples to this puree to make a delicious meal!

One steamed apple, one cup of steamed broccoli and a cup of cooked jade pearl rice for this awesome combination! Add extra liquid (organic apple juice or homemade vegetable broth) to thin if needed.
